Local Businesses Invited to Support Mariners’ Park Through Corporate Volunteering

Nautilus Welfare Fund is inviting local businesses to support Mariners’ Park in Wallasey through corporate volunteering opportunities that deliver practical support for residents while also helping businesses strengthen their social value and corporate social responsibility commitments.

Mariners’ Park is a unique retirement community for seafarers, set within 16 acres of beautifully maintained grounds overlooking the River Mersey and Liverpool waterfront. The site is home to 149 properties, including one- and two-bedroom houses, apartments and bungalows, as well as a 36-bedroom care home, all dedicated to supporting retired and vulnerable members of the seafaring community.

As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing the environment for residents, we are seeking support from local organisations who would be willing to take part in volunteering days at the park.

These opportunities are designed to give businesses a meaningful and practical way to support a local charitable community, while also providing valuable team-building experiences for employees and contributing to wider social value objectives.

Volunteering activities may include:

  • Painting and refreshing communal indoor and outdoor areas
  • Supporting small maintenance and improvement projects
  • Assisting with community events for residents

By taking part, businesses can make a genuine difference to the lives of residents while giving staff the chance to engage in hands-on volunteering that has a visible and lasting impact.

Andrew Jones, Director of Welfare & Care at Nautilus Welfare Fund, said:

“Mariners’ Park is a very special place, with a proud history and a strong sense of community. We are always looking for ways to enhance the environment and wellbeing of our residents, and support from local businesses can make a real difference. Corporate volunteering days offer a fantastic opportunity for organisations to bring their teams together, support a meaningful cause and contribute to the lives of retired seafarers who have given so much through their working lives.”

We would be delighted to hear from businesses interested in getting involved. We can discuss available dates, the type of projects that would be most suitable, and how a volunteering day can be tailored to your organisation and team.
